KSVDL Fall Discount: Bovine Respiratory PCR Panels
Now through December 31st, 2018 the respiratory panel prices will be discounted 20%
The pathogens contained in these panels are:

Mannheimia haemolytica
Pasteurella multocida

Viral:
Bovine viral diarrhea virus (BVDV)

Fall discount price for either the Bacterial or Viral panel will be $38.00 and for the combined panel, $74.50.
Appropriate samples: lung or lymph tissue or deep nasal (pharyngeal) swabs

Both viral and bacterial PCR panels can be completed from a single tissue sample or swab.
It is important that bacterial swabs NOT be used when submitting for PCR—the gel contained in these swabs inhibit the PCR reaction.
The KSVDL Toxicology Laboratory is up and running and can perform the following tests. Other test offerings will soon follow.
- Blue-green algae
- Forage and tissue/fluid nitrates
- Mineral panel (Ca, Co, Cr, Cu, Fe, K, Mg, Mn, Mo, Na, P, Se, Zn) from any biological specimen (liver, blood, serum, liver biopsy).
- Any individual mineral
- Heavy metal screen (As, Cd, Pb, Tl, Hg) from blood, liver, kidney.
- Any individual heavy metal
KSVDL has developed a PCR panel that detects all the common ocular disease organisms in one sample.
Detects: Moraxella bovoculi, Moraxella bovis, Mycoplasma bovoculi, Mycoplasma bovis, and bovine herpesvirus 1.
KSVDL is now offering a Small Ruminant Abortion Tissue PCR Panel
Detects: Coxiella burnettii, Toxoplasma gondii, Chlamydophila abortus
Samples: Fresh (5 gm) tissue to include placenta, lung, liver, kidney, lymph node, spleen, brain, heart.
Histopathology test update
Submissions from samples originating from teeth, toes or calcified masses (e.g. gingival, mammary) that require overnight or longer calcification time will be charged an additional $20.
