Bovine Theileria Updates

Recently, KVDL diagnosed the first Kansas native born and raised bovine with clinical Theileriosis. The herd is located in Southeast Kansas. The owner relayed to his practitioner that “ticks were very bad this year”.

This event makes it very likely that the Asian Longhorned tick is present in Kansas as many have predicted.
